Minimal intervention & terroir driven expressions drive the winemaking for Duncan Savage, a pioneer in the South African wine industry. Savage’s white blend is a flagship bottling that features not only the high notes of its constituent varietals, but also a meticulously rounded, more elegant character, thanks to large barrel ageing. Expect to find all of Sauvignon Blanc’s sharper, citrusy, herbal tinges intermingled w/ Chenin Blanc’s opulent notes of bruised apple & honey, and Semillon’s waxier, more unctuous personality on the palate. Although absolutely gorgeous by itself, its combination of vibrant fruit & herb, and a slicker, more plush mouthfeel beg for seafood based pastas & risottos.
