Cento Filari Lugana

$22.00

2017, Lombardy, ITL

Turbiana (Verdicchio), Chardonnay

From a wine producer established in 1936, devoted to sustainable winemaking –  Gererdo Cesari is a winemaking giant in Northern Italy, making beautifully crafted bottlings that elegantly encapsulate the region. Cento Filari gives exposition to the Turbiana varietal in particular, which is more so indigenous to Central Italy and known for its sharper acidity and tinges of citrus. In true fashion regarding Italian whites, Filari highlights a vivacious, opulent nose of juicy citrus, honeysuckle, bitter almond, and crushed stone. Although naturally sharper in structure, a small addition of Chardonnay (%5) rounds out the texture, giving the bottle a slightly richer balance. Although great as an apertif, Cento Filari is a versatile pairing wine, being able to match lighter pastas, dishes of white meat, and salads.
